USA Men’s Team Results

Division Two Preliminaries

Nigeria d. USA 3-1. See feature writeup.

USA d. Indonesia 3-1

Final Result: 1st NGR 2-0; 2nd USA 1-1; 3rd INA 0-2. This moves USA Men into Division Two.

USA d. Finland 3-1

This win puts USA into the playoff bracket for positions 25-40

Canada d. USA 3-1

This loss puts USA into the playoff bracket for positions 33-40

Vietnam d. USA 3-0

This loss puts USA into the playoff bracket for positions 37-40, along with Luxembourg, Brazil and Ukraine.

Luxembourg d. USA 3-1

This loss (against three left-handers) puts USA into the playoff bracket for positions 39-40. They will play Brazil (not Ukraine, as was incorrectly listed on printout here) for the 39th position in their final team match of the Worlds.

Brazil d. USA 3-2

USA finishes 40 at these worlds. While this may be the worst ever showing for a USA men's team, it wouldn't have been so bad except that Coach Dan Seemiller decided to play younger players in the second half of the tournament to gain experience, rather than his two "aces," David Zhuang and Eric Owens, over and over.
