USA Men's and Women's Team Trials are complete.
Women
Men
15 men and 10 women are trying out for the U.S. World Team that will be going to the World Championships in Osaka, Japan, April 23 - May 6, 2001. Rules and other info on the trials are in a press release sent to all top U.S. players and published on the USATT web page. The trials are being held at the San Diego TTA.
The ten women played a complete round robin, starting on Thursday, Feb. 8, with the top five making the team. Six of the men are seeded out of the preliminaries; the other nine played in the preliminaries on Wednesday, Feb. 7, with the top six advancing to the Final Twelve, which begins play on Thursday, Feb. 8. The top five men will make the team.
Daily updates will go up each night during the Trials, Feb. 7-11. (See above.) If you can't stay up late, check these results first thing in the morning! Results will go up throughout the day.
