To Everyone Who Enjoys Table Tennis:
As Chairman of the Tournament Committee I would like to welcome everyone to the 2001 U.S. Open/ITTF Pro Tour. I am sure that you will find your experience here at the Open to be one of the best ever.
Putting on a tournament of this size requires the dedication of numerous volunteers who give their time and energy to make sure each and every detail is taken care of so that your experience will be one you will remember for a long time. I extend a great big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, especially Allen Barth, Azmy Ibrahim, Norm Chouinard and Larry Kessler. A thank you just as big goes to the staff at USATT headquarters which had to perform their daily duties along with the extra tournament preparation. So thank you Margaret Smith, Tami Walker, Dawn Simon and Kathy Stabler.
The Tournament Committee believes that the Open will provide top competition from around the world for you to watch and will also provide great competition for those who are playing. We all hope that you will enjoy your time at the Open.
