Wei Wang and Mike Dempsey were inducted into the USATT Hall of Fame tonight at the 20th Annual Hall of Fame Banquet, while 1966 Hall of Fame Inductee Dick Miles was given the Mark Matthews' Lifetime Achievement Award. At $40/ticket, 67 people attended the four-hour banquent & ceremonies, which included cocktails, dinner, highlights of the winner's careers and the actual award presentation. Master of Ceremonies Tim Boggan (with assistance from Steve Isaacson and organizer Pam Ramsey) gave a lively narrative of the three honorees' careers, with a huge number of historic photos on an overhead projector. ("Where did you find that one?" was the constant question as one obscure photo after another appeared.) The 67 attendees included a virtual Who's Who of USA Table Tennis, both past and present.
