Welcome to the 2003 U.S. Open – and get ready for five days of non-stop action! With a bit of luck and a bit of skill, one of the 58 events here may have your name on it, and I wish you good luck in pursuing it.

North American Table Tennis (NATT) agreed to run this year’s U.S. Open pro bono. They have a great reputation for running efficient and on-time tournaments, including the North American Teams for the past five years, and many 4-star tournaments.

A big thank you goes to sponsor Butterfly, which not only supplies the tables and barriers, but also transports them here, puts them up, and takes them down afterwards – a huge job. A thanks also goes to Nittaku, who supplies us with huge quantities of 3-star balls, and to Pioneers, who supply the USA team with uniforms.

Whether you are here to play, watch, work, or some combination of the three, I look forward to hearing your comments on the tournament.
