The 22nd Annual USATT Hall of Fame Awards Banquet was held at the Stratosphere Hotel, Las Vegas, Thursday evening, from 7:00-11:30. This year’s inductees were: Norbert Van de Walle, Former U.S. Open Boys, Junior, and Men’s Doubles Champion, and U.S. Open Men’s Singles finalist; Lily Yip, 2-time U.S. Olympian and 3-time Pan-Am medallist; and Dave Sakai, many-time U.S. Open/Closed over 40 and over 50 Champion. The Mark Matthews Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Rufford Harrison, former USATT President and longtime ITTF Equipment Chair

Tim Boggan and Steve Isaacson were the colorful Masters of Ceremonies, and led us through the highlights of the honoree's table tennis lives. Their presentations were so colorful and often downright funny that most were able to ignore the helicopters flying about outside the building with flashing searchlights and men leaning out shooting machine guns - all part of the filming of a movie.

Profiles of the honorees will be posted after the inductions, and published in an upcoming USATT Magazine. See the online roster of the USATT Hall of Fame and Mark Matthews Lifetime Achievement Award winners, with linked profiles about all of them.
