USATT Teams League Flexible Scheduling
The USATT Teams League provides an overarching structure and a central authority that links all the participants. Being all under one roof does not mean, however, that every room is identically arranged!
We are providing the flexibility for Regional Coordinators to allow deviations in the ‘standard 16 week schedule.’ This is a reflection of the fact that every region is different. Some have easy travel and plentiful facilities; some have more problematic travel and facility availabilities.
Therefore, we are allowing the option of combining several weeks worth of ties between teams into a single date. If it is the wish of a region to hold a single day ‘mini-tournament’ in which several of the leagues needed matches are played at one location, on one date, that’s perfectly acceptable.
It’s all up to the participants and the Regional Coordinators to create the best possible arrangement that accommodates the greatest number of people’s needs. And it’s no problem on the League Office end to allow this option! So if you are daunted by the idea of 14 weekends of play, fear not! It’s entirely ‘okay’ to play more than one tie at any gathering. In fact, your region might well prefer to do the season this way, creating larger and better populated tailgate parties and maximizing use of the tables and playing site.
