BEFORE & AFTER
Have you tried the broccoli diet? How about carrots and lettuce four times a day? Trying to lose a little weight? Perhaps you have tried Madam Zenos’ Wonder Cure for a month for only $100. as an introductory offer. No matter. We have found a cure that is guaranteed and is all fun. Our prime example for your skeptics is Len Hauer, who went on the table tennis diet and lost 171 pounds in 2.5 years. Don’t believe us? Just look at the accompanying pair of pictures. Len weighed in just over 300 pounds a couple of years ago and lost 171 pounds by playing table tennis every day for at least six hours. He also was a bit more careful about what he ate. Lo and behold, see Len now, who plays at his club in Laguna Woods Village in California and is also a member of the Meiklejohn NSTTTA committee. A long pipper, a short pipper, thick sponger and hardbat expert, he thoroughly enjoys all aspects of the game. He also ran the Hardbat event at the recent Meiklejohn North American Seniors Tournament.
So if you want to lost 171 pounds and have fun, just follow the Len Hauer secret diet. Warning however – if you weigh less than 165 pounds you should check with your doctor, who may have to use all his/her skills near the end of your Len Hauser diet. Tim Boggan, who will be writing about the Meiklejohn Tournament in a future issue, may have a minor problem trying to find Lenny, inasmuch as when he turns sideways he seems to disappear.

THE 2008 CTTHOF INDUCTION
– NEW CELEBRITIES
Another senior enthusiast who competed with Len Hauer in reducing a worrisome weight was BILL UKAPATAYASAKUL, widely known among table tennis players as Bill-U, who was just inducted into the 2008 California Hall of Fame (CTTHOF, its President is Y.C. LEE).
The California Table Tennis Hall of Fame was established in 1994 and was formed with the intent to acknowledge and honor residents of the State of California who have achieved preeminence in the sport of table tennis as players and/or officials and/or contributors.
Bill-U has dominated the table tennis arena of seniors in local, regional, state and national levels since 1993, winning numerous glittering gold trophies and medals.
