USA Nationals Junior Girls Prize Money Increased;
"Mr. Neng-Chin Shih Memorial Junior Sponsorship" Extended to Sixth Year

Starting with  the 2003 USA Nationals, Mr. Santos Shih set up a five-year, $2000/year sponsorship for junior events, the "Mr. Neng-Chin Shih Memorial Junior Sponsorship," in honor of his father. He said the prizes would serve as extra incentives for the players and to encourage them to continue their efforts to achieve higher levels as they become adults.

In the USA Nationals Entry form, the prize money for junior boys events is listed as higher than for junior girls events. Mr. Shih has decided to increase the sponsorship to $2200/year so as to have equal prize money for both. Here are the new junior prize money listings:

In addition, Mr. Shih has announced that he is extending the sponsorship an additional year, through 2008, for six years in all. USATT wishes to thank him once again  for his generous donation!
