Ashu Jain and Nina Kemppel, both Vice-Chairs of the US Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Advisory Council, met with Travis Tygart ( CEO , USA Anti-Doping Agency) and David Howman (CEO, World Anti Doping Agency) to review the drug testing controls and procedures that affect the athletes around the world.  The topics of discussion included:

-         Review of extensive survey performed jointly by the USADA and USOC AAC

-         New regulations and protocol in the “Whereabout” Form, and the negative effects on athletes

-         Outcome and Appeal of doping violations

-         Suggestions for making the anti-doping code more athlete friendly

-         Creating a better and level playing field world-wide, through better testing standards in other countries

 

This was the first meeting between AAC’s Vice Chairs and key personnel in Anti-Doping movement.  Ashu Jain chairs the subdivision within USOC’s AAC that handles Anti-Doping matters.
