USA Table Tennis Hires Executive Director

Colorado Springs, CO, Nov. 4 – San Diego’s Clark Mitchell was hired on Friday, Nov. 1, as the new Executive Director for USA Table Tennis. He will be arriving in Colorado Springs today, and starting work on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Mitchell has a long history in table tennis. Although not an active tournament player (except in doubles), he has been an active player since 1976. Soon after he began playing, he became a board member for the San Diego Table Tennis Association, and he is currently their Executive Director. He is certified by USATT as a coach. He is also the marketing and programs director for the USATT Olympic Training Center Committee, which is looking to opening a table tennis program at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego. Mitchell has a wide range of non-table tennis experience that should help in his work for USATT. He has experience in marketing, project management and public relations. His background includes:

• Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center Athletics Committee (current)

• Founding Board Member San Diego Production Association promoting the film industry

• Special Event promoter for San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau

• Promote La Jolla committee directing special events, TV commercials and web site creation

• Sales Manager of Mission Ford, San Diego

• Karate Black Belt instructor at the Self Defense Institute, San Diego
