Eligibility for USA Table Tennis
National Championships Changes
The USA Table Tennis Board of Directors have voted to revise the eligibility for the USA Table Tennis National Championships. Effective at the 1998 USATT National Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 16-20, 1998, the eligibility for Championship Events and Championship Age Events for all USA Table Tennis National Championships is as follows:
Eligibility for the Championship Events and Championship Age events at the USA Table Tennis National Championships requires United States citizenship. A person entering the tournament must be sworn in as a citizen of the United States no later than the first deadline for entering the tournament.
Therefore, for the 1998 USATT National Championships, a person must be a citizen of the United States by November 6, 1998, in order to compete in the the following events:
Championship Events
Men's Singles
Women's Singles
Men's Doubles
Women's Doubles
Mixed Doubles
Championship Age Events
U-22 Men's Singles
U-22 Women's Singles
Over 30 Singles
Senior Men's Singles 40+
Senior Women's Singles 40+
Esquire Men's Singles 50+
Esquire Women's Singles 50+
Senior Esquire Singles 60+
Veteran RR 70+
Veteran RR 75+
Veteran RR 80+
Senior Doubles 40+
Esquire Doubles 50+
Senior Esquire Doubles 60+
Veteran Doubles 70+
Proof of citizenship must be made available upon request. Eligibility for the rating and other than those shown above events remains the same as in the past.
An entry form will be mailed to all active USA Table Tennis members in early September. The entry form will also appear in the September/October issue of USA Table Tennis Magazine.
