USA Table Tennis Announces Nominating and Governance Committee Tasked With Reforming Board of Directors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Earlier this year, the United States Olympic Committee requested and USA Table Tennis agreed to make fundamental changes in its governance structure. As USA Table Tennis takes the next step in governance reform, an independent initial Nominating and Governance Committee has been formed and will be charged with selecting the new board of directors for the organization.
The Nominating and Governance Committee is as follows:
The United States Olympic Committee has also provided an executive-on-loan to USA Table Tennis since the departure of Teodor Gheorghe from the organization’s Executive Director post in August 2007. Mike Cavanaugh, the USOC’s High Performance Manager for Team Handball, has served as Interim Executive Director on-loan for USA Table Tennis since September 2007.
The Nominating and Governance Committee for USA Table Tennis will take the lead on recruiting, evaluating and selecting the new board of directors for USA Table Tennis as the organization moves to implement its new bylaws. The Nominating and Governance Committee is now accepting applications for director positions. Details can be found on the USA Table Tennis website (www.usatt.org.).
