CEO Update on the USATT Board Seating Process
At the 2007 U. S. National Championships in Las Vegas it was announced that we projected to have a new USATT Board of Directors seated by March, 31, 2008. Many members have made inquiries as to the status of the Nominating and Governance Committee’s (NGC) efforts to complete this process. In an effort to complete their due diligence, the NGC has sought to conduct telephonic interviews with the eligible candidates for the open At-Large Club and Independent seats. Given that there are five (5) members of the NGC they have been challenged to coordinate their individual professional schedules with those of the candidates in order to carry out the telephonic interview process. In addition, the At-Large nomination period was extended for two weeks due to an insufficient number of applications. The simple result is that it has not been possible to complete the interview process up to this point in time. The NGC Chairman, Chris Vadala, and I wanted you to remain informed about the status of the process and to inform you that while we have missed the March 31 projected timeline, every attempt will be made to complete the process in a thorough fashion as soon as possible. We now project to have a new Board of Directors announcement on or about May 15, 2008. Thank you for your patience as we work our way through this critical juncture in the governance reform process.
