2010 Coaching Recognition Program
We have the opportunity to participate in a U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) Coaching Recognition Program that will honor a USATT Volunteer Coach of the Year, a Development Coach of the Year, a National Team Coach of the Year, a Paralympic Coach of the Year and a “Doc” Council Science Award winner. Those selected as USATT Coaches of the Year in each category plus the “Doc” Council category will be submitted to the USOC for consideration of their National Coach of the Year recognition program.
The category descriptions follow this cover letter as well as the nomination forms needed to be completed by those participating in the nomination process.
We have assembled a Selection Committee that consists of the Chairman of the USATT Coaching Advisory Committee, Richard McAfee, and the Co-Chairs of the USATT Athletes Advisory Council, Whitney Ping and Ashu Jain . As CEO of USATT, I will participate as an ex-officio in the selection process with voice but no vote.
In previous years we have been pleasantly surprised by the number of deserving nominations that we have received and we are optimistic that this trend will continue.
I invite you to participate in the nomination process by submitting your completed nomination(s) to me at ceo@usatt.org or by fax to 719 632 6071 by the close of business on October 15, 2010. If you are sending your nomination in by fax, please follow-up with a phone call to confirm that it has been received as we want to avoid any errors in transmission due to possible technical issues. I will then distribute the nominations received by the submission deadline to the members of the Selection Committee and we will conduct a review of the nominations received and complete the selection process. We anticipate making the announcement internally within USATT on or about October 29th and submitting our nominations to the U.S. Olympic Committee for their consideration in their national recognition program.
