2010 Election Notice and Process
The USA Table Tennis Board of Directors is defined in the Bylaws to consist of nine (9) members. Three (3) members are defined as Independent Directors, one (1) member is defined as a Club Representative Director, two (2) members are defined as At Large Directors, one (1) member is defined as a National Organization Representative Director and two (2) members are defined as Athlete Directors. On December 31, 2010, there are three (3) seats on the current Board of Directors that will come to term according to the defined staggered election system. Members of the Board of Directors must be 18 years of age or older and must be citizens of the USA.
The following is a list of the Board of Director seats that will come to term on Dec 31, 2010:
Independent Director – currently held by Jim Kahler

At Large Director – currently held by Christian Lillieroos
The election process will be conducted under the authority of the USA Table Tennis Nomination and Governance Committee (NGC). The NGC consists of the following individuals:

CLUB REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR
On October 16th, 2010, all USATT affiliated clubs can submit nominations for the Club Representative Director. Any individual eligible for this position must be (i) a member of a Board of Directors of a club, or (ii) a Trustee of the club, or (iii) Officer of a club. The club must be recognized by the USATT. Each Club Representative Director candidate must obtain at least twenty-five (25) signatures of support from current USATT General Members in order to be eligible as a Club Director.
The nomination period will be open from October 16 through November 16, 2010. All nominations and supporting backup documents must be postmarked on or before November 16 to be declared valid and must be sent to the National Office. The NGC will select the Club Director from the valid nominations received by the close of the nomination period. The announcement of the Club Director will be made on our about Dec. 30, 2010 via the USATT website.
INDEPENDENT
DIRECTOR
The NGC shall ask for nominations of individuals who satisfy the definition of independent as defined in the Bylaws Section 7.7. Nominations may be received from sources both within and outside USATT. Nominations must be received by the National Office post marked on or before November 16, 2010 to be considered valid. The NGC shall select, using whatever process the NGC determines appropriate, the one (1) Independent Director position that is coming to term. It is suggested that nominations also include a statement that the nominee accepts the nomination, is willing to serve if elected and the nomination should also include a resume of the candidate that is not to exceed two pages, 12 font size, and double spaced format. The announcement will be made on or about December 30, 2010 via the USATT website.
AT LARGE DIRECTOR
Any individual may be eligible for the At Large Director, provided he/she is a General Member at least 60 days before the record date of December 27 and obtains and submits to the NGC, through the National Office, at least twenty-five (25) signatures of support from current USATT General Members. Candidates shall submit their supporting documentation to the National Office starting on October 16 and they must be postmarked by November 16 to be considered valid. Candidates may attach a campaign flyer that is not to exceed two pages, 12 font size and double spaced; to include a head shot photo if so desired which will be sent to the electorate at the time of the ballot mailing. Candidates will also be given three minutes at the USATT Annual Assembly in Las Vegas the evening of December 14th to address those present with their statement.
Election ballots will be mailed to the General Membership electorate on or before November 24, 2010. The election period will run from November 27 through Dec. 27, 2010. Returned ballots must be received postmarked on or before December 27 to be declared valid. Ballots will be returned to the U.S. Olympic Committee, who will serve as the USATT Election Auditor for this process.
Summary:
This notice shall constitute the 90 days notice of the USATT Election Process and shall be published on the USATT website by September 26, 2010. The election period for the At Large Director is described as running from November 27, 2010 through December 27, 2010. The key date for membership to be valid for participation in this election is October 27 and this satisfies the 60 day requirement before the close of the election.
