2012 National Team Selection Criteria

The High Performance Committee approved the following 1st criteria for selecting the National Teams for 2012 and beyond:

• US eligible athletes ranked in top 10 ITTF World Cadets Ranking list will be directly qualified to the Cadet National Team
• US eligible athletes ranked in top 20 ITTF World Junior Ranking list will be directly qualified to the Junior NT
• Top 30 US eligible athletes in the ITTF World Men and Women Ranking list will be directly qualified to the men or women National teams

[In the event we have more ranked athletes than team slots, players will qualify for the National Team in the order of their World Ranking;] In order to take advantage of this rule, all athletes listed in the WR and eligible to be directly qualified must have followed the National Team programs in the previous year, except as specifically exempted by the High Performance Committee, if he/she was member of the National Team.

If there are spots left to be filled out, those spots will be selected based on the Trials selection process. The date of the WR considered for selection of National team members will be set for each year, based on the Trials deadline, so athletes will have the necessary time to enter in the Trials.” For Olympic and Pan Am Games the teams will be selected based on Olympic and Pan Am selection procedure approved by USOC.”
