Election News

The USATT Board of Directors has been considering the adoption of USOC guidelines for new Bylaws for several months. These discussions are continuing.  This has resulted in the USATT Board election cycle being delayed.

The Nominating/Elections Committee, with Ed Mercier as its new chairman, will be moving  quickly to conduct the 2006 Board election. The four terms that are expiring are as follows: Executive Vice-President, Jiing Wang; Treasurer, Tong Lee; Vice-Presidents-at-large, George Brathwaite and Barney D. Reed.

Anyone wishing to be considered by the committee as a prospective candidate should immediately contact Ed at emercier@execpc.com or at (715) 531-0639. If you wish to nominate another, please include contact information for that person. All Nominations must be received by 5 PM Central time on Tuesday, October 10.   Shortly thereafter the Nominations/Elections Committee will make its selections and forward the proposed slate of candidates to the USATT Board. The Board will make their additions and approve the slate. The ballot will be finalized and mailed out to the membership in late October.

Anyone who may want to petition to be on the ballot should contact Ed to receive the petition form and begin gathering signatures right away.

The form of the election materials will be the same as that used in 2004.  You will receive a # 10 business envelope containing your ballot, the candidates’ campaign statements, and a pre-addressed # 9 envelope with your return address on the back. You place your completed ballot in the # 9 return envelope, affix a stamp, and mail it.

The current plan is to have the election results finalized and reported to the Board in the later part of November.

We apologize that the election process is being conducted in such a short time. We ask for your cooperation so the new Board can be seated in time to consider the annual budget at the Nov/Dec Board meeting.
