USA Table Tennis Magazine Editor Position

USATT, the National Governing Body for the sport of Table Tennis in the United States, is accepting applications for the position of Magazine Editor. 

Position Title: USA Table Tennis Magazine Editor

Requirements:

·        Minimum of 2 years of related experience in editing magazines.

·        Excellent communication and time management skills; language and editing abilities are essential.

·        Organized and reliable, with strong sense of responsibility and professional ethics.

·        Ability to manage and work with multiple projects and long hours near deadline, have good editorial judgment, experienced in soliciting articles & photos and planning out a magazine.

·        Skilled in editing, writing, scanning and preparing photos & graphics for print, designing and creating page layouts, preparing PDF file for printer.

·        Understanding of the sport of table tennis or similar Olympic Sport preferred. 

·        Candidate should be skilled in Word, Photoshop and a major page design program such as Quark, InDesign or Pagemaker.

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

·        Solicit advertising.

·        Solicit photos and graphics.

·        Conduct interviews and write or solicit stories for the magazine as required.

·        Edit and proof all articles.

·        Plan the content of each issue.

·        Plan the magazine pages.

·        Create online magazine.

·        Design and create page layout,

·        Scanning and preparing photos & graphics for print.

·        Creating PDF files to send to printer.

·        Strive to make the USATT Magazine a high-quality, timely and on budget publication.

·        Work on program booklets for the US Open, US Nationals and other major events.

Reports to: USATT Executive Director

The successful applicant must be readily available for business trips, usually on weekends, when required.
