USATT Coaches Earn ITTF Course Conductor Status

by Richard McAfee, Chairman of USATT Coaching Advisory Committee

Eleven Coaches taking part in the recent ITTF Coach Course in Colorado Springs (9/5-9/11) have achieved the status of ITTF Coaching Course Conductors.  The Course was conducted by Glenn Tepper, ITTF Executive Director for Development.  In the future, they will be able to hold ITTF Level 1 Coaching Courses in their local areas.  These coaches not only had to pass the Level 1 Course Requirements themselves but also went through two days of additional training on how to teach the course as well as having to pass a theory test, practical test, and a written exam.

Normally only a very few coaches from each ITTF Course qualify to become National Level Course Conductors.  To have so many come out of the first ITTF Course in the United States is a testimony to both the quality of the coaches present at the course and also the hard work they put in during the course.  A special mention must be made regarding Dennis Davis who achieve International Course Conductor Status and will be considered to conduct Courses outside the US.
