Velvet Rackets

©Copyright Racket Sports Heritage

These small strung rackets are elegantly trimmed in velvet and gold, and date to the early 1800s. The strings are intact and turned at every crossing, a technique that disappeared in the late 1850s. The Collection includes several other examples of this type, along with a large and diverse group of sheepskin vellum rackets. Superb gems and very rare.
