FAX Report submitted by Eric Lampi

My name is Eric Lampi (elampi@erols.com) and these are my FAX thoughts... I discovered Fax many years ago before I even knew what it was. I was in a music store and saw a funny looking cover. I stopped to examine it. I was not impressed with it's artistic merits - a crudley drawn pair of Aliens "what the heck is Fax?". since I didn't know what it was, I placed it back on the rack and kept going. Several years later after joining the Ambient mailing list (Ambient@hyperreal.com) I began buying music recommended. I had already purchased 1 Fax title - instict Air 1+2 release. My second was the one I saw several years before - Alien Community 1+2.

Fax has been the source of many lucid dreams. I have about 15 titles now. I can close my eyes and get lost in it. I am glad to see that older releases are going to be made available. I had a CDR of Ambiant Otaku - sorry guys. While technically illegal, there was no other way to get it!! However, as soon as it was released again, I bought 2 copies, I gave the other to a friend. Being an artist myself, I feel it's important to support the artists that create so much wonderful music. I would encourage anyone else who has CD-R's to do the same as soon as the out of prints are re-released.
