Thoughts
on the
Conference
- usage_centered design - can be boiled down to a roles/tasks matrix that
focuses intensely on who is using the system and what they need to accomplish.
Helps you keep your eyes on the fries during the whole project.
- KIS
S - Keep It Simple (not) Stupid: Make software usable for the
novice but don't penalize the experienced user by dumbing it down to an embarrassing
level.
- WYSIWYN - pronounced wizzywin, means what you see is what you need,
i.e., give the user "just in time interface" that contains no more or no
less assets than necessary to carry out the task
- all methodologies (even the agile ones) require the occasional antecedence
of intelligent lifeforms in order to succeed.
- let people do what they are good at.
