Roy's Golf Lessons with Pat McGuire
Lesson 4 - 10/04/07
Informational
- wrists work in a north/south motion , not an east/west motion (relative to address)
Posture
- stand up taller, decrease the waist angle between the upper/lower body
Going Back
- hinge wrists at 9 o'clock which triggers right arm fold
Coming Down
- club lag is increased by a "ringing the bell" like motion as arms drop into the slot
Post Impact
- re-hinge wrists at 3 o'clock which triggers left arm fold
- allow left arm to rotate
Drills
- continue practicing half swings from 9 o'clock through to 3 o'clock. The body must keep moving through to finish! A pull is an indication that the arms have outraced the body.
