U.S. Girls Claim U19 and U15 Team Gold at Pan American Youth Championships

The United States has opened the ITTF Youth Pan American Championships with two gold medals, as the U19 and U15 girls’ teams both captured Pan American titles.
Sally Moyland, Satya Aspathi, Hildy Chen and Lilian Ma powered through the U19 Girls’ Teams event, defeating Chile, Colombia and Peru before facing Brazil in the championship match.
The U.S. continued its dominant run in the final, sweeping Brazil 3-0.
Moyland opened the final with a 3-1 victory over Beatriz Fiore before Ma followed with a straight-games win against Karina Shiray. Aspathi then clinched the title with a 3-2 victory over Lana Ozeki.
The result adds another major Pan American team title to Moyland’s resume. The Fremont, Calif., native previously won U19 girls’ singles in 2025, the singles and team gold at the 2023 Pan American Youth Championships, and has continued to establish herself as one of the leading young players in the Americas.
Moyland is also set to make a significant move into the Top 10 of the ITTF U19 girls’ world rankings following the team event, entering the singles portion of the championships with momentum.
The U.S. also earned a bronze medal in the U19 Boys’ Teams event. Daniel Tran, Daryll Tsao, Anav Gupta and Alex Luo advanced through the group stage before defeating Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals. Their run ended in the semifinals against Brazil.
The U.S. U15 girls continued the country's strong record in the Cadet team event, with Irene Yeoh, Isabella Luo, Tiana Piyadasa and Abigail Yu claiming gold.
The Americans defeated Brazil 3-0 in the championship match. Yeoh opened with a 3-0 victory over Bianca Borges, Piyadasa followed with a 3-1 win against Louiza Fontanive, and Yu secured the title with a straight-games victory over Tainara Heidrich.
The championship continues a sustained run of success for the U.S. in U15 girls’ team competition at the Pan American Youth Championships.
Yeoh also enters the individual portion of the tournament on a strong note. The American has been one of the U.S. youth program’s standout performers in 2026, including a U17 girls’ singles title at WTT Youth Contender San Francisco II earlier this year.
Yeoh is expected to make a significant jump inside the Top 5 of the U15 girls’ ITTF world rankings following the team competition.
The U.S. narrowly missed a second U15 team title as Kyler Chen, Chirag Pradhan, Carlough Francis and Lucas Wu earned silver.
After defeating Canada in the semifinals, the Americans pushed Brazil to the limit in the championship match before falling 3-2.
The silver gives the U.S. another podium finish in the team events, with all four American U15 and U19 teams reaching the medal rounds.
With the team competition complete, attention now turns to the individual events, where the U.S. contingent will look to add to its medal haul across singles and doubles.
