Jha Keeps USA Alive in Singles at 2026 U.S. Smash

Kanak Jha has moved into the men’s singles Round of 16 after a commanding 3-1 (11-2, 11-3, 6-11, 11-4) win over Tom Jarvis.
Jha dominated the opening two games, 11-2 and 11-3, before Jarvis responded in the third. The American quickly regained control to close out the match in four games.
Standing between Jha and the quarterfinals is Sweden's world No. 3 and Olympic silver medalist Truls Moregard.
The two most recently met at WTT Champions Doha 2026. Moregard's victory evened their international head-to-head at 3-3.
A victory would send Jha into the quarterfinals for the first time at a U.S. Smash.
They go head-to-head on July 3 at 10:45 p.m. ET / 7:45 p.m. PT for a shot at the quarterfinals.
Jha is now the lone American remaining in the singles draws after Jishan Liang and Sally Moyland's mixed doubles run ended in Wednesday’s quarterfinals against Brazil's Hugo Calderano and Bruna Takahashi.
