SAN JOSE, Calif. — On the nation's 250th birthday, competition entered Day 2 at the 2026 U.S. National Table Tennis Championships, where national titles were awarded across adult and junior divisions.

Competing at U.S. Nationals for the first time since the 2022 tournament in Dallas–Fort Worth, Seth Pech captured the 30 & Over Men's Singles title in straight games over Mohammadreza Akhlaghpasand.

“The fact that I can play this over 30’s, the under 2600, and then men's singles. You know, it's a big pull for me, because I get to play a lot of matches so it's more fun because I love playing,” said Pech.

In the afternoon, the U13 boys’ and girls’ singles champions were decided. Beyond the gold medals, the U13 events also carried significant U.S. Junior National Team ranking implications.

Chirag Pradhan, representing Table Tennis America, strengthened his hold on the U.S. U13 boys’ No. 1 ranking. He defeated Jacob Kordus 3-1 (7-11, 11-3, 11-4, 11-9) in the boys’ final.

“I didn’t expect to be champion,” said Pradhan after the match. “I would like to thank my parents, coaches, and my friends for like helping me throughout this tournament. I couldn’t have done without them.”

In a fitting conclusion to the U13 girls’ singles event, Emma Yang and Anya Shanbhag, the two top-ranked U13 girls in the nation, met in the finals.

Emma Yang earned her first U13 national title after runner-up finishes in the last two U.S. National Championships.

“I was pretty nervous, but at the same time, I didn't really care because I knew she was better than me and she beat me in the past,” said Yang. “It just feels great to be here because I lost to her in the past a lot, and I'm just really happy because this is my first time being first.”

Both U13 champions improved their standing in the U13 U.S. National Team rankings, with Yang remaining No. 2 and narrowing the points deficit to No. 1-ranked Anya Shanbhag.

More finals, more medals and more memorable moments remain ahead as competition continues throughout the week in San Jose.

Spectators can watch the next champions being crowned and enjoy the action all week long at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Tickets are available at HappsNow through July 9.
