Ke and Tan Stun No. 1 Seeds to Reach Women's Doubles Semifinals

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Tiffany Ke and Angie Tan stunned No. 1-seeded Amy Wang and Jessica Reyes-Lai 3-2 (11-6, 8-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-8) in women’s doubles to advance into the semifinals.
“We didn't have many expectations for ourselves, especially when we saw the first seed in our draw, we’d fight for sure, but no expectations,” said Tan following the match.
The impromptu pairing allowed the duo to play freely, giving them the confidence to swing away. When asked to describe their pairing in one word, the two had the same answer, “fun.”
The unseeded pairing now sits one win away from the championship match. Their victory sets up a semifinal against Hildy Chen and Lilian Ma at 2:15 p.m. ET / 11:15 a.m. PT on Tuesday.
Men’s doubles quarterfinals start today with some compelling matchups. 888 Table Tennis Center’s Kanak Jha teams with Bosman Botha against Darryl Tsao and Victor Xie.
Reigning champions Nandan Naresh and Daniel Tran are looking to defend their 2025 title. They’ll see Wenzhang Tao and Peter Joseph Scheuer in the quarters.
Top seeds Nikhil Kumar and Sid Naresh will play Aryan Jha and Krish Ghandi on the other end of the bracket.
Men’s and women’s singles pick up in the Round of 32. In the women’s main draw, Sally Moyland, reigning U.S. National Women’s Singles Champion, and two-time champion Amy Wang are leading the women’s singles field.
Members of the U.S. Women's National Team, including Satya Aspathi, Hildy Chen, Tashiya Piyadasa, Mendy Wang and Irene Yeoh, all advanced through the round-robin stage without dropping a match.
In men’s singles, six-time U.S. Men’s Singles champion Kanak Jha and two-time champion Nikhil Kumar headline the men’s singles draw.
Both arrive in San Jose following notable performances at the 2026 U.S. Smash, where Jha made a deep run in men's singles and Kumar became the only American singles wild card to advance out of the first round of qualifying.
They face their first challengers this afternoon in the Round of 32. Jha’s first opponent is Lucas Wu, and Kumar will contend with Jaden Jia.
