Doubles Championships Decided at U.S. Nationals

SAN JOSE, Calif. — The men’s and women’s U.S. national doubles champions were crowned at the 2026 U.S. National Table Tennis Championships.
Nandan Naresh and Daniel Tran defeated Ved Sheth and Alex Luo to capture their second men’s doubles title in three finals appearances since 2024. Naresh and Tran outlasted the Bay Area duo in the five-game match 3-2 (11-7, 7-11, 16-14, 10-12, 11-8).
“Some people say that I'm a doubles player and honestly, it might be true. I love playing doubles,” Tran said following the final.
After dropping the first game, they looked to shorten points rather than extend rallies, yet won several of the longest exchanges late in the match.
“We just tried to enjoy it,” Naresh added. “We never felt any stress. We just go out there and if we miss it's no problem.”
In the women’s doubles final, Sally Moyland claimed her second major U.S. national doubles championship of the day alongside Irene Yeoh.
The champion duo beat Hildy Chen and Lilian Ma in four games 3-1 (11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 11-9).
With the match tied at one game apiece, the third game proved decisive. That was when Moyland took control of the match, and Yeoh fed off her energy.
Moyland dictated play with relentless attacks while Yeoh consistently pressured the backhand exchanges, helping the pair seize momentum for good.
“We both like to attack and it made our opponents more defensive. I felt like she rallied on my serve and I rallied on her flips, both in attack mode,” Yeoh said after the match.
The pair continued to catch Ma and Chen out of position to clinch their first women’s doubles title.
