Noorani Wins Three Titles, Leads U.S. to Eight at WTT Youth Contender San Francisco III

U.S. players captured eight titles across multiple age divisions at the third edition of WTT Youth Contender San Francisco.

The U.S. effort was highlighted by victories from Kef Noorani and Sally Moyland in the premier U19 singles events.

Kef Noorani claimed the U19 boys’ singles championship after defeating Alex Luo in the final 3-2 (8-11, 12-10, 11-7, 8-11, 11-4).

Noorani showed resolve after the 2-2 break. After dropping Game 4, he responded with five consecutive points in the deciding game. He opened with a 7-4 advantage and never allowed Luo back within striking distance, pulling away late to clinch the match.

The victory was Noorani's second singles gold medal of the tournament after claiming the U17 boys' singles title.

In U19 girls’ singles, Sally Moyland cruised through the competition without losing a game. She closed out Irene Yeoh in straight games to take first place.

Fresh off her women's singles title at the 2026 U.S. National Championships, Moyland was too much for the field to handle.

The singles champions teamed with the runners-up to contest an entertaining mixed doubles final between Kef Noorani/Irene Yeoh and Alex Luo/Sally Moyland.

They went the distance, with the pairs trading games before Noorani and Yeoh prevailed 3-2 (11-9, 6-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-7).

The U.S. took five more championships among the younger age divisions at World Table Tennis Youth Contender San Francisco III in Burlingame, Calif.

Tanish Mamidyala secured the U15 boys’ singles championship, while Kyler Chen and Abigail Yu claimed the U15 mixed doubles title.

The United States swept U13 singles with victories from Atharva Arvind and Isabella Joseph, and Furas Ahmed finished on top of U11 boys’ singles.
