Kanak Jha and Darko Jorgic are locked in for the men’s singles final today in North Macedonia. Competing in his first WTT Contender in 2026, Jha is poised to clinch the title if he can overcome the World No. 15 Slovenian star.
The American earned his place in the final with victories over Simon Gauzy (FRA) in the quarterfinals and Hiroto Shinozuka (JPN) in the semifinals on Saturday.
Their evenly matched rivalry continues in Skopje just one week after their latest meeting, when Jha defeated Jorgic during the Liebherr TTBL-Final4 in Germany, setting up a quick rematch.
The two finalists present a compelling contrast of styles, making the matchup much closer than rankings might suggest despite Jha entering at World No. 30.
Jha's early timing, receiving quality, and ability to disrupt rhythm could force his opponent into more short-game exchanges. Jha will likely look to extend rallies into Jorgic’s forehand to avoid prolonged barrages from one of the sport’s most dangerous backhand specialists.
Jorgic, on the other hand, will seek to control the pace with his elite service game. He’ll lean on finishing fast points and setting up his mid-distance backhand.
If Jha can disrupt Jorgić's preferred patterns with his precision while staying close to the table, he’ll be well-positioned for a favorable outcome.
Aside from competing for the title at WTT Contender Skopje, valuable world ranking points are on the line. These points are particularly important mid-year, when many players lose ranking points from the previous year.
Jha has already secured a rankings boost with his run to the final in Skopje. Lifting the trophy would further strengthen his qualification and seeding positions at upcoming WTT Series events.
