USA Table Tennis Opens Election Process for At-Large Director Position

USATT Nominating and Governance Committee Will Oversee Election Procedures For Vacant At-Large Director Position in Accordance with USATT Bylaws


(Colorado Springs, CO – September 26, 2023) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”), the National Governing Body for the sport of table tennis, today announced the election procedures for the currently vacant At-Large Director position on the organization’s Board of Directors. USATT’s Nominating and Governance Committee will oversee the election process for the vacant Director position pursuant to procedures established in Section 7.6 of the USATT Bylaws.


Any USATT General Member may seek election for the vacant At-Large Director position provided that person meets the requirements set out in Section 7.6(a)(3) of the Bylaws. Specifically, the candidate must be an adult (18 or older) who is a USATT General Member in good standing for at least sixty (60) days prior to the election Record Date (i.e., the date voting opens), which is Monday, November 6, 2023.


Candidates interested in the At-Large Director position must submit notification of their interest in running for the position to the USATT General Secretary to the Board of Directors, Mark Thompson (Mark.Thompson@usatt.org) by Monday, October 9, 2023 (5:00 pm US Mountain Time). The notification of interest should include the candidate’s name, USATT ID number, date of birth, and phone number.


Beginning on October 10, 2023, candidates can undertake the process of obtaining signatures of support from current USATT Members. The candidates must submit their signatures of support, along with a one-page Candidate Campaign Statement, to the USATT online election system by October 30, 2023.


Candidates must submit a minimum of 25 valid signatures to be considered for the ballot. Any candidate otherwise eligible for the At-Large Director position who submits 50 or more valid signatures will be automatically placed on the ballot. The NGC is also empowered to select eligible candidates who have more than 25 – but less than 50 – signatures for placement on the ballot.


The ballot of candidates will be released and the on-line electronic voting system will be opened for the USATT Membership on Monday, November 6, 2023. Voting will conclude on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 5:00 pm US Mountain Time.

  • Monday, October 9, 2023 (5:00 pm US Mountain Time): Deadline for Candidates’ Submission of Interest
  • Tuesday, October 10, 2023: Signature Gathering Period Opens
  • Monday, October 30, 2023: Signature Gathering Period Closes
  • Monday, November 6, 2023: Ballot Published – Electronic Voting Process Begun
  • Friday, December 8, 2023 (5:00 pm US Mountain Time): Voting Process Concludes
  • Monday, December 18, 2023: Certification of the Election
