The US Nationals Will Return to California Next Year – But This Time, the US Titles Will Be Up for Grabs In One of the Nation’s Great and Historical Hotbeds for Table Tennis Talent – Silicon Valley

(Colorado Springs, CO – July 17, 2025) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”), in partnership with the City of San Jose, Visit San Jose and the San Jose Sports Authority, today announced that the organization will host the 2026 US National Table Tennis Championships at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center [“SJCC”] located in the heart of northern California’s Silicon Valley. The 2026 US Nationals, which will run from July 3 – 9, 2026, is projected to have the largest number of participants for a table tennis event in the history of the Bay Area, which has proven time and again to be one of the historical hotbeds for producing this nation’s greatest table tennis talent.

“We’re extremely excited to be headed to San Jose for the 2026 Nationals,” said USATT Chief Executive Officer Virginia Sung. “There is no question that the Silicon Valley has produced – and continues to produce – some of our country’s greatest table tennis players, and we would expect an extremely competitive pool of talent at this event. We also believe that the San Jose Convention Center is the perfect space for a major US tournament. The playing venue is a huge and open space, which will give us ample opportunity to design and build a top-quality field of play. And, of course, San Jose is simply a beautiful, world class city with something to do for everyone, which should bring in players from all around our great country.”

"San Jose is thrilled to be selected as the host city for the 2026 US Table Tennis National Championships. Our vibrant table tennis community, world-class facilities, and proven track record in hosting major sporting events make us the perfect destination for this prestigious tournament,” stated John Poch, the Executive Director of the San Jose Sports Authority. “We look forward to welcoming the nation’s best athletes and showcasing the Bay Area’s passion for the sport while delivering an unforgettable experience for players, fans, and visitors alike."

The 2026 US Nationals which will be held in the SJCC’s 165,000 square foot main hall, will essentially be a home game for northern California native and reigning US National Champion Kanak Jha, who will seek to become the first seven-time winner of the Men’s National Title in a building that is essentially next door to his home city of Milpitas, California. And on the women’s side, Sally Moyland – another top talent from the Bay Area – will seek to defend her first Women’s National Title, which she just captured in southern California.

Opened in 1989, the SJCC is located in the heart of downtown San Jose and is the largest convention center in Silicon Valley, offering some 550,000-square-feet of convention space. Perhaps not surprisingly, the SJCC is known for hosting high-profile technology conferences and events like the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference and Facebook F8. Renovated and expanded in 2013, the SJCC has also hosted a number of non-tech events like FanimeCon and GalaxyCon – and the widely celebrated Fan Fair for the National Hockey League’s 2019 All-Star Game.

The prospectus and hotel information for the 2026 US National Table Tennis Championships at the San Jose Convention Center is expected to be released – and registration is expected to open – in the fall of 2025.
