USATT Announces Dates and Locations for 2022 US National Youth Team Trials

ICC To Host the U-11, U-13 and U-17 Team Trials on February 19 – 21

Table Tennis America to Conduct the U-15 and U-19 Trials on February 25 – 27

(Colorado Springs, CO – December 28, 2021) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”) today announced the dates and locations of the 2022 US National Youth Team Trials. The U-11, U-13 and U-17 Team Trials will be held at ICC in Milpitas, California, on February 19 – 21; and the U-15 and U-19 Team Trials will be conducted at Table Tennis America in Fremont, California, on February 25 – 27.

“We are excited to have two of our top USATT Member Clubs host these important qualification events in 2022,” said USATT Chief Executive Officer Virginia Sung. “Both ICC and Table Tennis America have shown that they can put on the type of elite quality table tennis tournament required for the selection process of our Youth National Team Members. USATT wants to wish all of the participants in these events the best of success, as we continue our efforts to identify and support young athletes destined for international success.”

Players interested in participating in the 2022 US National Junior Team Trials can register starting on January 3, 2022, at: www.sportfist.com.

The 2022 US National Junior Team Trials will determine the players who represent the United States at the ITTF Pan American Youth Championships. The dates for those events are: (U-19) July 26 – 31; (U-15) August 17 – 24; and (U-11 and U-13) September 17 – 24. The locations of those events are yet to be determined.

The 2022 National Youth Team Selection Process is as follows:

The first position on the male and female youth teams will be awarded to the 2022 National Champions (as determined at the US National Championships) in their respective age divisions (U-19, U -17, U-15, U-13, U-11); and
The remaining positions (2 through 8) on the male and female youth national teams will qualify based on performance at the 2022 National Youth Team Trials.

The Age Divisions for the 2022 US National Youth Teams are determined as follows:

U19 born on or after January 1, 2003
U17 born on or after January 1, 2005
U15 born on or after January 1, 2007
U13 born on or after January 1, 2009
U11 born on or after January 1, 2011
