"I am tremendously excited for this opportunity to work with USATT’s leadership and all of its members to help ensure that the millions of people who play table tennis in this country get excited about its beauty and make table tennis the most sought-after sport to watch in the 2028 Olympic Games. Under Virginia’s leadership, USA Table Tennis has become a model national governing body in the Olympic movement, and we will continue to ensure excellence in all that we do."
Virginia Sung added, “In addition to bolstering our structure and governance, our focus will be on casting a wider net to bring more people under the USATT umbrella. Our sport brings people of all ages, cultures and ability levels together, and our growth will continue to be fueled by our diversity. Everyone who plays table tennis in clubs and ping pong in their homes are part of our community, and our leadership and team are committed to engaging them in the lead up to the Los Angeles Games.”
