Burlingame, Calif. – Amy Wang and Hugo Calderno won the men's and women's singles titles in the 2026 ITTF Americas Cup. The two winners have extended Brazil's and the United States' dominance in the Pan American region.

Amy Wang won the women's singles ITTF Americas Cup title in a thrilling seven-game series against Lily Zhang 4-3 (11-5, 14-12, 6-11, 11-8, 8-11, 9-11, 11-3).

“Lily played so well. She definitely had very good preparation for the match and played fantastic”, commented Wang after the match. “To win in the seventh is really a huge honor for me. I'm just so happy to win at my home club.”

In a clash between two of the most technically polished Americans, Wang’s compact style and speed played to her benefit. Zhang worked hard to extend rallies and drive her opponent wide, but Wang was able to command the tempo in the seventh game and win the match.

Amy Wang's remarkable championship run began when she defeated Bruna Takahashi of Brazil, the defending Americas Cup winner, 4-1 (13-11, 11-3, 3-11, 15-13, 12-10). The surprising gave Amy a new sense of accomplishment and momentum into the finals.

"With each win, I definitely felt more confident," said Wang about her amazing championship run. "Both Bruna and Lily, are more experienced and they perform better on the world stage. So, for me, it's always a good opportunity to play them.”

When combined with defeating the women's singles world no. 20, the championship victory at the 2026 ITTF Americas Cup solidifies her status as one of the region's most elite players.
