Cadet Teams Finals are Coming Up Next

The Cadet Teams finals matchups have been decided in today’s portion of the knockout rounds of the 2023 ITTF Pan American Youth Championships. Brazil will take on the United States in the boys’ event, and we’ll see a Northern matchup between Canada and the United States for the girls’ event.
In the leadup to finals, the Cadet Boys’ semifinals took Brazil just three matches to move past a respectable Peru squad who had just beaten Canada 3-2 in a best of five.
The United States boys’ team closed out an absolute battle with the Puerto Rico Boys’ Team that, at first glance, may have seemed all but lost.
USA lost the first two matches before beginning a 3-0 run. USA’s HSU Stanley, seeded #42 in singles, had routed seed #1 MORENO Steven 3-1 (11-5, 11-8, 13-11, and 11-2). Hsu's incredible win opened the door for #11 GHANDI Krish to seal the victory in game five, 3-0 over his opponent #2 RIOS Enrique.
The Cadet Boys 2023 ITTF Pan American Youth Championships Final between Brazil and the United States is scheduled today at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center in West Virginia.
Playing today for Team Brazil, we’ll see FUJII Davi Koji, IWAMOTO Vitor, ROMANSKI Lucas, and YAMANE Hamilton. For the USA, the cadet finalists will be HSU Stanley, GANDHI Krish, SHEN Charles, and HE Xianyao.
Teams – Olivia Huang (Canada) in the Cadet Girls’ Semifinals at the 2023 ITTF Pan American Youth Championships - Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center – West Virginia. July 26, 2023.
The semifinals were wrapped up rather quickly for the Girls’ Cadets. Canada and the United States have made it through their brackets in the U15 division.
In the semifinals, the United States defeated Ecuador in three matches sending ZHANG Amy, LIU Amber, LIN Yishiuan, and PIYADASA Tashiya to the finals for a chance at gold against Canada.
Team Canada was also able to top Team Peru in three straight matches in their semifinal matchup. LIU Emily, XU Jessie, PAN Ivy, and HUANG Olivia will be making their finals appearance with a chance to become the next cadet champions of the Pan Am Region.
The 2023 ITTF Pan American Youth Championships Cadet Girls’ Final between Canada and the United States will be held today at 2:00 p.m. ET inside the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center and you can watch live from ITTF Americas.
