USA Table Tennis Announces the Innovation and Growth Challenge

The first ever USATT Innovation & Growth Challenge inspires our community to Build Our Future as part of the 90^th Anniversary Celebration. The winner receives free entry to the 2023 U.S. Open and 1 year of Pro USATT Membership.

(Colorado Springs, CO – February 15, 2023) – The Innovation & Growth Challenge is an invitation to all USATT members to propel their ideas for table tennis innovation, growth, and future development forward. Throughout the contest, entrants can ask questions and receive feedback from Barbara Wei, USATT’s media specialist to improve their ideas and entrees for selection. The winner will receive an award, free entry to the 2023 US Open Table Tennis Championships in December and one year of USATT Pro Membership. Semi-finalists will receive 1 year of free Basic Membership. Winner and semi-finalists will have an opportunity to work with USATT in 2024 to implement their innovations.

The Innovation & Growth Challenge is an opportunity to say yes to Building Our Future together – as a community who wants to grow and improve table tennis throughout the US and the world. We invite you to be creative, authentic and lead the way in creating the future of table tennis you want to see. The challenge is open ended, but example ideas include technological tools, new processes, social-impact ideas, and environmentally conscious innovations.

Challenge Timeline & Submission Details:

Initial Idea Pitch Video

July 1^st

USATT Technology and Innovation Committee selects and notifies semi-finalists

September 1^st

Final Pitch Video

December 1^st

Semi-finalists submit 3–5-minute pitch video that dives into their ideas in more detail

Individualized support for 3–5-minute pitch video provided by Barbara Wei at USATT

Social media voting

December 1^st – December 15^th

Live popular voting for semi-finalists on our social media and website platforms, to determine the winner

Announcement of winner and award ceremony

~ December 18^th

Eligibility & Submission:

• Current USATT Member
• Please submit contact information (phone number and email) alongside your submission
• Submissions should be emailed to admin@usatt.org
• Deadline for submission is July 1^st, 2023

Selection Procedures:

• Members of USATT’s Technology and Innovation Committee will review submissions and select semi-finalists
• Decision by the committee for semi-finalists is final

• No purchase necessary to enter this contest
• Prizes awarded in the Innovation and Growth Challenge are non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other merchandise
• USATT reserves the right to publish any or all submissions to USATT’s website and/or the organization’s social media outlets
