USA Captures 34 Medals at 2024 ITTF Pan Am U11 & U13 Championships in Santo Domingo

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The U.S. Junior National Teams delivered an impressive performance at the 2024 ITTF Pan American U11 & U13 Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, winning a total of 34 medals: 12 gold, 9 silver, and 13 bronze. These medals were won across Boys’ and Girls’ Singles, Doubles, and Team events.


The U.S. secured 12 medals in singles and 14 in doubles, setting the tone for the competition. The medal haul continued in the U11 and U13 Team events, where the U.S. earned 8 more medals. The Boys’ and Girls’ Teams were dominant in all categories, securing gold and silver in U11 Boys’ Teams, U13 Boys’ Teams, and U13 Girls’ Teams. The U11 Girls’ Team brought home gold and bronze.


Notable Individual Performances:


Abigail Yu, Emma Yang, and Anya Shanbhag were standout performers in the U11 categories, each of them earning three gold medals.


Abigail Yu and Irene Yeoh claimed gold in U13 Girls’ Teams and Doubles, with Yu also winning the U13 Mixed Doubles title alongside Jaden Jia.


Emma Yang and Anya Shanbhag took gold in both Girls’ Teams and Girls’ Doubles, while Yang won gold in U11 Girls’ Singles, defeating Shreya Venkateraman, who took home silver for the U.S.


In U11 Mixed Doubles, Anya Shanbhag won gold with Chirag Pradhan, who also claimed gold in U11 Boys’ Singles and silver in Boys’ Doubles with Evan Dong, against Jacob Kordus and Ethan Zhou, another gold for the USA.


Angha Anagha Kasichainula secured gold in U13 Girls’ Singles after impressively defeating Irene Yeoh in the championship final.


The U.S. team's achievements at the 2024 Pan Am U11 & U13 Championships show that the U.S. is an established force in youth table tennis on the international stage.
