Kumar and Moyland Capture Mixed Doubles Title at 2025 U.S. Nationals

ONTARIO, Calif. – Nikhil Kumar and Sally Moyland were crowned champions of the 2025 U.S. National Mixed Doubles Championships after a commanding 3-0 victory (11-9, 11-5, 14-12) over Bosman Botha and Amy Wang on Day 2 of the tournament.

Though it was their first time pairing together, Kumar and Moyland committed to an intense training schedule in the weeks leading up to the event to build chemistry and sharpen their coordination on the table.

“We had to really stay focused, every rally, every point, and be sharp with our receives and serves. We had to get through some nerves coming into the match,” Kumar said after the win.

Despite early nerves, the duo maintained steady pressure throughout the match, using aggressive play and strong teamwork to secure the gold medal.

Kumar has also advanced to the Men’s Singles Round of 16 and will compete in Men’s Doubles beginning on Wednesday, July 2. Moyland continues her tournament run in the Round of 16 in Women’s Singles and is also set to compete in Women’s Doubles also beginning on July 2.

  • Under 1000 Adult: Chuo-Han Lee earned the gold medal.
  • Under 2000 Junior: Saicharan Vellanki won the national title.
