Fifth Straight Title for Amy Wang, First for Rising Star Abigail Yu.

ONTARIO, Calif. – Amy Wang and Abigail Yu captured the 2025 U.S. National Women’s Doubles title with an impressive 3-0 victory (11-7, 11-9, 11-7) over Sally Moyland and Jessica Reyes-Lai at the Ontario Convention Center.

This win marks Wang’s fifth consecutive women’s doubles title and her first with new partner Abigail Yu, a 13-year-old member of the U.S. Junior National Team. Wang, 22, from Sewell, New Jersey, had previously won the event alongside her sister Crystal Wang and three times with Rachel Sung.

Wang’s experience and Yu’s composure and quick adaptation proved to be a winning combination. Their effective left-hand/right-hand pairing created synergy and pressure throughout the match.

“I feel really happy to win women’s doubles because I’ve never played it before, and my partner was also really good, so I’m really proud to win,” said Yu after the match.

Wang also had high praise for her young partner. “It’s my first time playing with Abigail. She’s really young, only 13 years old so it’s definitely very different from playing with Rachel [Sung] and we are improving. I think Abigail is one of the best younger players right now in the United States. It’s my honor to play with her.”

Yu is already a standout junior player, having claimed multiple Junior Pan American gold medals. At this year’s U.S. Nationals alone, she won four additional titles: U15 singles and doubles, U13 doubles, and mixed doubles and she still has to play. Like Wang’s former partner Sung, Yu is left-handed, a familiar and complementary asset making her a strong partner to continue Wang’s remarkable run of success.
